It’s a collaboration between Rostam Batmaglij of Vampire Weekend and Wes Miles of Ra Ra Riot. So good you’ll be sad you missed it for the past 2 years.
Osaka Loop is one of my favorites.

dig it:
So busy lately, but here goes:
I’m not sure what to think seeing as #1 is from an NPR show. If you don’t listen to Marketplace you should (just for the awesome music). Tron Legacy was great, especially since The Dude was in it. Black Keys are the underrated band of last decade, Decemberists can thank Kenny for their appearance here and I just like the mellowness of the Atomic Tom song.
What no Kanye?
Ok, I missed the boat on this one, but Happy Hanukkah! My favorite Jewish Reggae Artist is back this holiday season with a pretty good song (thanks NPR!) and a quality video featuring Matisyahu as Santa. Enjoy “F*ck you”. I thought I had all of Atmosphere’s discography but had missed this gem. If you don’t know Jeremy Messersmith, you should. It’s very mellow music from a Minnesota artist who has great videos from Eric Powerup [http://www.ericpowerup.net/], who does some of the coolest animations and papercraft videos around. Finally, 2AM Club…I’m not as keen on the chorus as the verses, but overall the song is good. Never heard of the group until a Benzi mixtape but I think this song is worth a listen.
This song got me in the spirit.

You know you want it.
Kanye’s new album is seriously awesome; not sure if there isn’t a song I don’t love (douche? yes; brilliant artist? yes). Kenny found this one and it’s awesome; in his words, Eddie Vedder-ish (I agree). Molly found the Frank Turner song, it’s punky, UK hipster music with tattoos. 4. is an old Jimmy Eat World song, I just found it a few weeks ago and it’s risen to a current fav. How can you have a top five without the Roots (first ever concert when I was 16 btw).
A new top five for the weekend.
If you haven’t heard Kanye’s new album (I know, he’s a dick) you should definitely find a copy to listen to. It’s a masterpiece. Civil Twilight is mellow gold, but good enough that I listened to the whole album on long runs. Naked and Famous I found only recently (awesome, especially you’re into Passion Pit). Mike Posner, nuff said. John Butler Trio: that dudes a dirty looking hippy, but the music is top notch.
Tbo out.
